Should Jax Die During the Sons of Anarchy Series Finale?

After all the violence and death he's caused, the president of SAMCRO deserves to die...right?

After last week's bloody, penultimate episode of Sons of Anarchy, it's looking like things are going to go the way of Breaking Bad during the FX biker drama's series finale tonight.

And by that, we mean Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is totally going to die—and we are actually pretty OK with that.

But before you grab your guns and try to bring Mayhem down on us for saying that, hear us out...

Not only has Jax just murdered his own mother, Gemma (Katey Sagal), in revenge for killing his wife, Tara (Maggie Siff), but he also murdered his pseudo-father figure Unser (Dayton Callie) because he wouldn't leave Jax alone with Gemma.

For those keeping score, that's the second father figure Jax has killed, since he previously shot Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) through the throat in a gruesome, drawn-out death scene in revenge for killing his father many years ago.

Add Juice (Theo Rossi) to that list of casualties since Jax ordered his former friend's death in prison for betraying the club (we'll never look at pie the same way again), and we've only covered the most recent episode!

We're pretty sure that at this point, and because of all the carnage he's caused, Jax doesn't even want to survive the war he started, since during a Sons of Anarchy charter president meeting in the last episode, he came clean to the other presidents about killing fellow club member Jury White (Michael Shamus Wiles).

He confessed that he lied about Jury ratting them out, knowing the other presidents will be forced to a Mayhem vote. He's sealed his own fate and even promised that his own club will "vote the right way," i.e., vote to kill Jax for his crimes!

Of course, that will be easier said than done since his second-in-command and right-hand man Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) and loyal friend Tig (Kim Coates) would sacrifice their own lives before they let anything happen to their precious president, but Jax has never failed in getting his club to see things his way before.

The only thing that would potentially give Jax the will to keep on living would be his kids, Abel and Thomas.

But since Wendy (Drea de Matteo) is already set to take them down to Nero's (Jimmy Smits) farm to live safely away from all the violence in Charming, he knows they're better off without him. And there's no way Nero would ever forgive Jax for killing the love of his life and let him live with his kids on the farm, because can you say, "Awkward?!"

It's fascinating that it's taken this long for us, the viewers, to accept and even hope that Jax Teller won't make it to the end of the series alive, when for the past seven seasons we've rooted for him to succeed and survive no matter how many people he killed. But hey, that's just the genius of executive producer Kurt Sutter.
