Unlike the Golden Globes, the NAACP Image Awards will go on in full red carpet force.

I have learned the WGA has granted a waiver to the NAACP, so it can hold its 39th annual gala and awards ceremony. In other words, there will be no stripped-down press conference à la yesterday's Globes!

While a rep for the WGA insists a final decision has not been made, I’m told an official announcement may come as early as some time today or during a press conference tomorrow. The awards are slated to take place and air live on Fox Feb. 14.

The 44 categories recognize achievements in movies, television, music and literature. Among the many nominees are Denzel Washington, Don Cheadle, Will Smith, Angelina Jolie, Tyler Perry, America Ferrera, Taye Diggs, Blair Underwood, Jennifer Beals, Jordin Sparks, Kanye West, Aretha Franklin and Alicia Keys.

Stevie Wonder will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.

Again, there is no official announcement from the NAACP or WGA just yet. I'll update ya when I hear more.

The SAG Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards have already received waivers. Let's just hope the Oscars do, too.
