Comedienne Sarah Silverman spoofed the late Joan Rivers, played an Ebola patient and talked to herself as she made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live, which marked her first appearance on the show in 20 years.

Silverman was a featured performer on the late-night NBC sketch comedy series between 1993 and 1994. Saturday's show also featured Maroon 5, who performed their hits "Animals" and "Maps." Frontman Adam Levine also appeared in two sketches.

Check out five highlights from Silverman's SNL hosting debut below.

1. Joan Rivers roasts fellow celebrities in Heaven

Donning a coifed blond wig, a maroon-colored fur jacket, a black top and a chunky pink necklace, Silverman, 43, did her best impression of the late legendary comedienne and host of E!'s Fashion Police, who died at age 81 on Sept. 4, addressing several other deceased famous people.

"My old friend Richard Pryor's here! I can't believe it!" she said. "Even Steve Jobs, right here! Incredible."

Also spotted, Benjamin Franklin, played by Bobby Moynihan.

"Hey Ben, Ben, where'd ya get that outfit?" Silverman-as-Rivers asked. "Forever 1721?"

Levine also made a cameo as late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, wearing a bright banana yellow outfit, prosthetic  teeth and a sweet 'stache.

2. The Fault in Our Stars 2: The Ebola in Our Everything trailer

This sketch comes days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed that a man in Texas has Ebola and had recently arrived from Liberia, where there is an epidemic of the deadly disease, marking the first time a person has been diagnosed in the United States.

In the skit, Silverman parodied Shailene Woodley's character in the 2014 romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars, which sees the latter actress playing a cancer patient who falls in love.

"No I don't have cancer. I have Ebola," said Silverman, who sports a tube under her nose.

"The mock trailer for The Fault in Our Stars 2: The Ebola in Our Everything contains the tag lines: "Sometimes the most contagious disease is love" and "Because you can't quarantine your heart."

3. Silverman sits on woman's lap and talks to her younger self during her monologue

"Oh, this feels nice," the comedienne said as she cozied up to a 32-year-old female audience member. "Lindsay, I wanna tell you something that's really important. You're beautiful and you deserve love and I hope that you are as kind to yourself as you to any schmoe on the street and I love you."

"Your turn," Silverman added.

Also during her monologue, thanks to the power of video editing, the comedienne was shown seemingly talking to a younger version of herself in the SNL audience.

4. Most Awkward car ride (and proposal) ever?

Great news! Silverman scored a ride from the airport. Her brother agreed to pick her up. She uses the sweet bonding opportunity to reveal some bad news: She cheated on her boyfriend during her trip.

More bad news: He's in the backseat. With a $12,000 engagement ring in a box. Oops?

Even more bad news. There's a traffic jam. And more of her loved ones are there too. And so is Levine. And he's craving Pizza Hut.

"There wiiiilll be stuffed crust.." he sings.

Spoiler alert: One person doesn't get any.

5. "Supportive Women" soap opera

Kenan Thompson hosted a mock nostalgia-themed clip show titled "Forgotten TV gems," showing scenes from a fictional soap opera that highlights how "women are nurturing and empathetic." One scene showed Silverman and Cecily Strong playing two apparent passive-aggressive frenemies. Strong slips something in Silverman's water, but it turns out her intentions were kind.

Thompson's reaction to this clip sums up the entire sketch.

"Isn't that weird??" he asked.

Next week's episode of SNL airs on Oct. 11 and will feature former cast member Bill Hader as host, while the British pop and rock band Hosier will perform.

Last week's 40th season premiere was hosted by Chris Pratt and featured singer Ariana Grande (check out a recap, plus videos).
