Good evening, TV fans! There was a lot on tonight (though when is there not?), including the premiere of two new ABC comedies (one good, one not so much) and the return of a much loved character on Sons of Anarchy. Plus, there's gonna be a wedding on New Girl! All that and more in tonight's Rants and Raves.

Spoiler Alert: Leave RIGHT NOW if you aren't caught up on tonight's TV. Seriously, get out.

RAVE: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: We are completely ok with Kyle MacLachlan being (Probably? Maybe? Most likely?) Skye's father. It's not the same as Coulson and Melinda May turning out to be her parents, but it's still cool.

RANT: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: They already killed off Lucy Lawless?! Lame! (Though people do have a tendency to not actually be dead in the Marvel universe…)

RAVE: Selfie: If we're the fire, you're the spark. If we're the nest, you're our lark. If…you get the idea. But we love this show (and its creator, Suburgatory's Emily Kapnek), and if you think we're anywhere near done quoting that line about Linda not being jelly, you would be so, so wrong. (Sorry not sorry.)

RAVE: Sons of Anarchy: Venus (aka the wonderful Walton Goggins) is back! And Courtney Love correctly assessed that Gemma is crazy! A+ guest star situation tonight, SOA.

Elizabeth Morris/NBC

RANT: Chicago Fire: We still have not forgiven this show for Shay's death, and watching Severide be absolutely torn apart did not help. It was good television, but that doesn't mean we're happy about this plotline.

RAVE: The Voice: Tonight was a super improvement over last night's so-so talent. We'd also be super down for the friends-sharing-an-apartment show idea that Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were pitching to each other during a quick "the coaches hang out with each other" pre-commercial break clip.

RAVE: Utopia: How is everyone in the world not obsessed with this show? It has the best theme song and a steam punk mustachioed host who says things like "the wood pile is the romantic spot where they finally consummated their relationship." We can't get over it.

RAVE: New Girl: So a future episode of this show will feature the wedding of Rob Reiner and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's Kaitlin Olson? How do we RSVP? Also: more of Winston pronouncing names of mythical hammers, please.

ABC/Craig Sjodin

RANT: Manhattan Love Story: We just can't get behind a leading lady who's clumsy, awkward, and bad at technology, while her jerkbag of a date's main flaw is just horrid shallowness. It would also help if the "thoughts" resembled actual thoughts as opposed to just almost witty bits of voiceover.

RANT: The Mindy Project: We are nothing if not huge, gigantic, raging fans of The Mindy Project, and we mostly loved tonight's episode. However, how old is the "oh no my boyfriend's still married!" trope? Over it.

RANT: NCIS: We're in agreement with a lot of Twitter – we miss Ziva. We're still getting used to the show without her.

RAVE: Person of Interest: A creepy case-of-the-week that is actually related to the show's overall mythology? Count us in! We are definitely liking the direction this show is heading in.

So what did you watch tonight? Feel free to rant and rave with us in the comments!
