Sanity in Sleepy Hollow?!

That's exactly what new sheriff Leena Reyes (played by House of Cards star Sakina Jaffrey) is hoping to achieve when she makes her debut in the Fox hit's next episode, airing on Monday.

After working for the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas, Reyes is returning to her hometown to take over the role vacated by Irving (Orlando Jones), and in our exclusive sneak peek at "The Kindred," we learn she has a surprising connection to a Sleepy Hollow resident: Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Jenny's (Lyndie Greenwood) mother, Lori Mills!

While Reyes and Abbie's encounter seemingly ended on a good note, fans should expect to see the new Sheriff make our witnesses' lives "very difficult" as she will not "be as open as Irving was by the end of the season," executive producer Roberto Orci told us. Star Tom Mison added that Reyes "plays absolutely by the book and is the last person Ichabod and Abbie need around or want around."

Sleepy Hollow airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
