First E! News confirmed that Angelina Jolie did indeed wear a white dress when she finally tied the knot to Brad Pitt Then yesterday we got a sneak peek at what that gown actually looked like. And today, designer Donatella Versace has released her official sketches of the look, along with key details.
The stunning custom Atelier Versace number consisted of "a white silk-satin" fabric that was "gathered at the bust with elongated train." And yes, as we confirmed yesterday, the silk veil and train featured "embroidered drawings" created by Jolie's six children. According to Hello! magazine, one illustration featured the phrase "Buttock Fatock." Inside joke, perhaps?
"Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress. He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together," the Oscar winner told People magazine of Luigi Massi, master tailor at Atelier Versace.
The bride also wore a matching pair of matching satin Versace pumps while walking down the aisle.
Jolie and Versace have a very long red carpet history. The actress has often opted for the designer for major events including the Golden Globes, Cannes Film Festival and even the Oscar (who could forget her famous 2012 gown with thigh-high slit?).
In a statement released on Sunday the designer said she was "honored" Angelina chose to wear her creation on the star's dream day and gushed that she "was perfect" in the gown.
