Whoever said the fanny pack is dead hasn't met Matthew McConaughey.

The Oscar winner showed up to a Boston Red Sox baseball game Sunday afternoon wearing the questionable fashion accessory.

As it turns out, the 44-year-old father of three had no shame in his retro ensemble.

"I'm not afraid of the fanny pack," the Texas-born actor told reporter Julia Morales while cheering on the Houston Astros. "You gotta kind of put it on the side to make it look a little, not as nerdy. But still, practicality wins out."

He added, "I've got so much gear in here that I don't want in my pockets."

Fanny pack lovers, including Morales, cheered when the actor showed his support for the unforgettable trend.

In fact, when Morales admitted to owning her very own Texas-themed fanny pack, McConaughey urged her to keep wearing it.

"That sounds cool! They're coming back," he proclaimed. "They're on their way back, some decade from now."

McConaughey isn't the first celebrity to proudly display a fanny pack.

Nicole Richie admitted to wearing the accessory at a recent Jay Z concert. Even Dwayne Johnson sported one in a recent Instagram post. To be fair, the photo was a throwback to the ‘90s.
