Reports surfaced today that CBS has officially picked up How I Met Your Dad for their fall 2014 TV lineup.

CBS and producers 20th Century Fox Television both say a series order has not yet been made.

However, it a deal may be close. CBS is set to reveal it's full fall lineup on Wednesday in NYC, and HIMYD is by all accounts a lock.

The How I Met Your Mother spinoff stars Greta Gerwig as Sally—aka the female Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor)—a sweet yet free-spirited girl in her late 20s who has never really embraced the notion of growing up. However, unlike Ted, Sally is already married when we first meet her in the pilot.

Rom-com legend Meg Ryan is also a part of the show. The You've Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle star will voice Future Sally, the older version of Greta Gerwig's lead character. In the original series, Full House's Bob Saget provided the future, all-knowing voice of Ted.

In addition to starring in the series, Gerwig will also be taking on a major behind-the-scenes role as a writer and executive producer alongside co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. "I contributed a lot into the pilot, and I'll be in the writers' room staring June 1 if they pick it up," the actress shared with E! News in March.

Gerwig also assured us that the spinoff, which will be shot in New York City, will honor our McLaren's Pub-loving flagship in each and every way. "It's funny. It shares the heart and soul with the original show, so it has the sweetness and the funniness," she said.
