Candy Spelling Admits Watching Tori Spelling's Marital Issues on True Tori Is "Painful"—See the Video

Like most moms would, Candy Spelling has a tough time watching her daughter's marital problems play out on television.

But the 68-year-old admits she hasn't missed an episode of the Lifetime docu-series True Tori, which shows her daughter, Tori Spelling, and Tori's husband, Dean McDermott, trying to mend their fractured marriage.

Spelling stopped by Today Monday during the show's fourth-hour segment, which was broadcast from Los Angeles.

When asked how she felt about the show, Spelling told Hoda Kotb and Billy Bush, who was sitting in for Kathie Lee Gifford, it's difficult to watch.

"As a mom, you don't wanna see your children hurt in any way, and I have to say that it's painful for me to watch it."

On the series, Spelling and McDermott are dealing with a host of marital issues in front of the cameras.

McDermott has admitted to cheating, and said he's even contemplated suicide.

Asked if she agrees with the couple's decision to air their personal lives on TV, Spelling remained diplomatic.

"I think that they feel that they need to share it with the audience. Tori has always...She's broken that wall of 'This is my reality.'"

Spelling, widow of film and television producer Aaron Spelling, was on Today to talk about her book Candy at Last.
