Just picture Jamie Dornan belting, "R.I.P. to the girl you used to see, her days are overrrrrr..." in his sexy Irish accent. Amazing, right?!
It turns out the hunky actor, who will be portraying Christian Grey in the highly anticipated adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, would sing Rita Ora songs between takes (in case you forgot, Ora plays Grey's sister, Mia, in the film).
"Behind the scenes, he'll jump into an Irish ditty, or he was singing a lot of Rita Ora," Marcia Gay Harden, who plays Grey's mother in the movie, told Entertainment Weekly Radio's TV Editors Hour. "He's like [in Irish brogue], ‘Oh, you got that in brain now.' We're like, ‘Come back to America, because you got a scene in a minute.' ‘But it's in my brain!' He's sweet."
The Brit singer never voiced her opinion on his rendition of her songs, but we're guessing he was able to hit all the notes.
After all, Dornan isn't just a handsome model and actor (and soon to be S&M sexpert). He's also had his time behind a microphone, singing songs for his folk band Sons of Jim, which broke up in 2008 (but you can watch them in action here).
Jamie has recently returned to Ireland after spending the about three months in Canada filming the popular erotic flick, based on E.L. James' best-selling trilogy which also stars Dakota Johnson. They wrapped filming on Feb. 21 and the film is set to hit theaters on Feb. 13, 2014.
Along with cheering on his favorite rugby team at Aviva Stadium in Dublin during his downtime, the 31-year-old new dad spends is busy filming the second series of his hit BBC show The Fall—and also probably singing some tunes throughout the day, of course.
(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
