Let the film roll on those very sexy scenes!

After the production start date was pushed back a month, Fifty Shades of Grey officially began filming on Sunday, Dec. 1 in Vancouver.

E.L. James, the author of the erotic trilogy, shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse on set.

"Action!" James captioned an Instagram snapshot, featuring a slate during the1st roll, the 25th scene and the 1st take.

Fifty Shades producer Dana Brunetti re-tweeted James' pic, and added "And we're off."

Screenwriter Kelly Marcel also weighed in on the very first day of filming, tweeting her well-wishes and writing "Thinking of team 50 today-- @E_L_James @DanaBrunetti @MichaelDe_Luca @jebbrody. Good luck guys."

Some filming took place at Rainier Provisions Cafe, a source confirmed to E! News.

We also got our first glimpse of the male protagonist, Jamie Dornan, as S&M billionaire fetishist Christian Grey.

The 31-year-old Northern Irish actor looked extremely handsome and dapper, sporting a gray suit jacket, white dress shirt and a perfectly tousled coif.

No sighting yet of Dakota Johnson, Dornan's leading lady in the sexy film adaptation.

Dornan portrays the troubled and very sexual entrepreneur who pursues innocent recent college graduate, Anastasia Steele, played by Johnson. Luke Grimes is Elliot Grey, the adopted brother of Christian, while Eloise Mumford is Anastasia's bubbly roommate, Kate Kavanagh. Kate is also the love interest of Elliot.

In addition to Dornan, Johnson, Grimes and Mumford, Victor Rasuk is Anastasia's close friend, José, and Jennifer Ehle is Anastasia's mother, Carla. The film, which might be rated NC-17, is being directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and produced by Michael De Luca and Brunetti.

The short delay comes after Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the lead role in October. Dornan was cast several weeks later.

Focus Features recently announced that the steamy flick will arrive in theaters on Feb. 13, 2015. Just in time for Valentine's Day!

Fifty fans, are you excited to see the film?

(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
