Robin Thicke isn't ready to give up on his nearly nine-year marriage.
The singer took the stage at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., Thursday, where he opened up about his marital problems with actress Paula Patton. "For y'all that don't know, me and my wife separated but I'm trying to get my girl back," the 36-year-old singer told the crowd. "She's a good woman."
"I'm going to need you guys to help me through this," he added. Thicke then dedicated his breakout hit "Lost Without U" to Patton, who inspired the mid-tempo ballad. The 38-year-old actress even played his love interest in the music video, which premiered in 2007.
The "Blurred Lines" singer was stilling wear his wedding ring; Patton, meanwhile, has removed hers.
On Monday, the high school sweethearts announced that they had "mutually decided to separate."
The couple got married in June 2005, and they welcomed son Julian in April 2010. When they decided to split, the spouses told E! News in a statement, "We will always love each other and be best friends."
Thicke will next perform at the Grand Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut Saturday. That same day, Patton is expected to walk the red carpet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in L.A.
