It turns out that the wizards who put together the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue every year have had to employ a little extra trickery when it comes to Chrissy Teigen.

No, not because she has some sort of physical flaw that needs masking. Hardly that, as you can see on the 2014 cover, featuring Teigen, Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal standing knee-deep in the ocean and wearing only the cheekiest of bikini bottoms

Despite having worn a lifetime's worth of swimsuits over the years, Teigen revealed in a sit-down with Bethenny Frankel on Tuesday's Bethenny that she actually can't swim, and has needed some graphic-design help to make her look more at ease in the water.

"I can't swim and I actually hate sand," the veteran model said when asked what it was like to travel to all of those beautiful beachy locations.

"There's actually a bunch of shots in the past issues where I'm in a pool or floating and I'm laying on a boogie board, and they just Photoshop it out."

And the 28-year-old beauty insists that it's too late to learn now.

"I feel like I'm too old to go to the Y now with a bunch of 4-year-olds," Teigen said. (Though wouldn't all of the kids' dads be happy to see the Y's newest student...)

Frankel offered to take Teigen to swimming lessons along with her own daughter, 3 1/2-year-old Bryn.

"I can't go with her," Teigen protested, "we're both wearing floaties..."

It's not as if she's going to be pressured into jumping into the deep end while on vacation with hubby John Legend or anything, either.

"John can't swim either, actually," Teigen added.

And now we find out the couple's hot beach bodies are just so much window dressing!
