From fairy dust to powdered arsenic donuts!
Lifetime's highly anticipated Flowers in the Attic sequel, Petals in the Wind, has officially found Kiernan Shipka's replacement: Rose McIver!
The Australian actress, best known for her work as Tinker Bell on ABC's Once Upon a Time, will take over the role of Cathy Dollanganger for the Mad Men star, E! News has confirmed.
So why the casting shakeup? The sequel is set 10 years after the events of the first film.
Lifetime's adaptation of V.C. Andrews' 1979 novel was the network's most-watched original movie since 2012, locking in 6.1 million viewers.
Set to reprise their roles from the first film? Ellen Burstyn as Olivia, the most religious grandmother ever ("Remember, God sees everything!"), and Heather Graham as Corinne, the worst mother ever. (She poisoned her own children! After keeping them locked in an attic for years!)
Mason Dye, who played Cathy's brother-lover Christopher, will not return for the sequel; the role has yet to be recast.
Screenwriter Kayla Alpert describes the sequel, which is set to begin production soon, as "a very juicy and compelling revenge drama."
The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news of McIver's casting.
