10 Midseason Shows You Must Check Out: About a Boy, Those Who Kill, Star-Crossed and More

Shows to Watch CW, ABC, NBC, A&E

Need an excuse to stay inside and avoid people (ugh, people!) this winter?

Perfect, 'cause we've got 10 of them for you to use! Though networks used to just debut their new series in September and January, times have changed and they are now sprinkling out their new offerings throughout the year. For this, we, the TV-obsessed, are grateful, but slightly overwhelmed.

And February and March will see the debut of several newbies, with more than a few catching our interest, like Believe, J.J. Abrams' (yeah, we're pretty sure the man never sleeps) ambitious new drama for NBC centering on a young girl with supernatural abilities and the death-row inmate tasked with protecting her, and Those Who Kill, A&E's gritty new serial killer drama starring Chloe Sevigny.

DVRs, prepare to feel how we feel every Thanksgiving: stuffed.

Plus, there are also some new shows debuting that we're curious to see if they can even work, like ABC's bar-set comedy Mixology, with the entire first season taking place over the course of one night. And Star-Crossed, the CW's new alien drama that is the young network's most genre-heavy series yet. (Of course, they are diluting it with some angsty romance. And we're so not complaining!)

We've also included new offerings from Awake's creator Kyle Killen and Christian Slater, as well as NBC's adaptation of Hugh Grant's 2002 film About a Boy from Friday Night Lights and Parenthood's Jason Katims. (Yes, we cried just typing that sentence, the man is that good.)

To find out more about the series we're looking forward to checking out in the next few weeks, take a peek through our gallery of midseason shows you shouldn't miss below. After you're done perusing the newbies, head on down to the comments and let us know what you'll be watching.
