Girl Meets World just got an early sign of approval from Disney. According to series star Danielle Fishel, Disney has ordered more episodes of the upcoming Boy Meets World spinoff series.

"Got the great news tonight that #GirlMeetsWorld was picked up for 8 more episodes—a total of 21! Can't wait for everyone to see them all," Fishel tweeted.

The Boy Meets World spinoff will follow Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Fishel) Matthews as they raise their young daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

"I am grateful to everyone at Disney Channel for the opportunity to reach my favorite audience, which has always been kids," creator Michael Jacobs said in as statement when the show was announced. "Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular."

Boy Meets World ran for seven seasons on ABC and starred Savage, Fishel, William Daniels, Rider Strong and Will Friedle, among others.

When the new series begins, Cory and Topanga will be raising their family in New York City. Cory is a history teacher at Riley's school and Topanga owns a trendy afterschool hangout that specializes in pudding.
