OK, by now you know that we love The Mindy Project. So much so that we wrote a grand opus on why only an idiot would not watch TV's funniest show.

But we get it, you were busy around the holidays, people you were related to actually wanted to see you and you had a lot of peppermint bark to eat. So TV watching wasn't a priority. However, it's a new year and we aren't accepting any more excuses. Especially after you watch this exclusive deleted scene from the series, which highlights just how freakin' funny the Fox sitcom is.

Yeah, The Mindy Project is that good that even the scenes that hit the cutting room floor are better that most sitcom's best scenes. Oh, we went there. And we bought property.

In this exclusive first look at a cold open that didn't make it to air, Mindy (Mindy Kaling) gives us a hilariously realistic guide to the various stages of relationship sex.

Month one of a new relationship, like Mindy's with the adorable-lawyer-who-is-not Danny Cliff (guest star Glenn Howerton): "It's important to look banging-hot doable every single night." In Mindy's world, this means dousing yourself with potpourri and then lying about it. Obviously.

By month two, things start to get a little more "comfortable." We're talking flannel PJs, which are cute but not sexy, you know?

All of this, of course, is just to make sure your guy is in far too deep to leave when you "give up" by month three and have eaten too much chips and guac before bed, wear blackhead strips to bed and stop shaving your legs for so long that they resemble cacti. Hey, we've all been there.

The Mindy Project airs Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.
