2013 was a year of celebrity highs and lows. So much has happened in the world of pop culture that it's almost hard to track it all! Luckily we're here to condense all of the year's madness into our Best of 2013 breakdown!
Trust us, this was no easy task! So in order to get down to the nitty gritty we went straight to the experts: E!'s own Giuliana Rancic as well as George Kotsiopoulos, Zanna Roberts Rassi and Brad Virata to share their thoughts which celebs rocked 2013.

Selfie was the official word of the year for 2013, so it only seems fitting that we pay tribute to the best selfies that got us all talking! While Michelle Obama, Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton are all women who got the world buzzing, it was Kim Kardashian who snapped this shot after recently giving birth to daughter, North West that really set the Internet abuzz. "Kim Kardashian in her white bathing suit only a few months after giving birth is by far the most popular celeb selfie of the year," said Giuliana.
George meanwhile, felt the best selfies were group shots. "When ladies like Meryl Streep and Hillary Clinton are taking part, you know it's an international phenomenon," he said.
A couple that plays together, stays together! SNL alum Jason Sudeikis and actress Olivia Wilde, are always caught laughing with one another while being absolutely adorable while doing it. Also in the running were powerhouse couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian along with Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson. "Diane is one of my favorites who rarely gets it wrong on the red carpet…Joshua is just plain hot and a super sweet guy. I styled many, many actors for The Hollywood Reporter, and he's the only one who made me flustered," said George.
"Kimye is the new Brangelina," Giuliana shared.
It's hard to believe that anything was able to upstage Lady Gaga's American Music Award entrance on a manmade white horse, or Rihanna's red hot Alaia dress at the Grammy's. Yet at this year's Academy Awards all eyes were on Charlize Theron and her flawlessness continues to keep us talking. "The cropped boy blonde do, the neutral make up, the Harry Winston jewels, nothing to try too hard. Perfection. Simply sublime," said Zanna.
With all of the adorable babies born this year it's hard to just choose one! Gisele Bündchen's daughter Vivian practicing made our list, as did Fergie and Josh Duhamel's son Axl. However, there was one baby in particular had the royal treatment when he was born! The just world can't seem to get enough of baby Prince George and with this precious face we see why. "Prince Geroge's debut outside of the hospital with William and Kate was the biggest moment of the year," said Guiliana.
Pixie cuts were everywhere in 2013. Miley Cyrus, Michelle Williams and Pamela Anderson all rocked the short 'do in 2013. Jessica Alba on the other hand went with a more subtle update with '60s inspired layering and highlights. "I love Miley Cyrus' chop! She finds so many fun ways to style it, which can be a challenge with short hair," said Giuliana.
A year ago you may not have known much about actress Lupita Nyong'o, but after her role in 12 Years a Slave she has won our hearts both on and off of the red carpet. "She came out of the gates running at the Toronto Film Festival in a glorious white Prada grown and has been wearing only top-level, super elite designers ever since including Lanvin, Prabal Gurung and Chanel," said George. Lupita was followed by British model Suki Waterhouse, and boy band group One Direction, we have no doubt that we will be seeing a lot more of all of these faces in 2014. "I'm officially a Directioner now. Their movie This is Us is the best movie I've seen in a while," shared Guliana.
Getting glammed up for an event is one thing, looking this fabulous just when hitting the street another! These women all look absolutely fierce no matter where they are, but Victoria Beckham nabs top honors for street style.
Film costumes in 2013 were incredible! But it's period pieces like Masters of Sex, Downtown Abby and The Great Gatsby that really wowed us. The over-the-top outfits made Gatsby our winner in this category, and made us immediately wish that we could be invited to one of his parties! "The costume designer, Catherine Martin, worked with Prada and Brooks Brothers to dress all of the stars," Guiliana said.
Miley Cyrus debuted a sexy new look and Sandra Bullock has owned the red carpet since the release of her 2013 blockbuster Gravity. While these actresses were close, it was Christina Aguilera who left us in awe after looking better than ever at this year's American Music Awards. She has been releasing new music and getting in shape while doing it. She is showing us that Xtina is back and here to stay! (And we couldn't be happier about it!!)
