Charlie Hunnam Attends First Event Since Dropping Out of Fifty Shades of Grey

    Charlie Hunnam attended his first public event, one week to the day after the bombshell news broke that he would no longer appear in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

    The hunky Sons of Anarchy star appeared at the "Hogs for Heart," a One Heart Source Fundraiser, on Saturday, Oct. 19 with his cast members in Los Angeles. Kim Coates, also known as Tig on the hit FX series, served as the host for the evening and has a direct relationship with the organization. His daughter, Kyla Coates, is the Education Programs Manager at the non-profit.

    The blue-eyed British actor wore a gray western-style dress shirt (!), blue jeans and a brown belt. He was also spotted signing Sons of Anarchy memorabilia, which later up went up for purchase in a silent auction.

    According to their website, One Heart Source is a "designed to empower young people through education, and to provide high quality education and care for vulnerable children in Tanzania and South Africa."

    Universal Pictures confirmed on Saturday, Oct. 12 that Hunnam had dropped out of the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, which was scheduled to start production soon, citing his busy TV-centric schedule.

    Hunnam has been keeping busy since the announcement was made that he would not portray the sexy copper-haired man with the bright gray eyes. He served as best man at publicist Jennifer Betts' wedding the day the news broke and was also seen strolling the Sons of Anarchy set during the week, looking serious and very much like his on-screen character Jax Teller. He was due to attend the FX Paley Center event on Wednesday, Oct 16 but cancelled.

    And while a new Christian Grey has not been named, the rumor mill has been churning since Hunnam's exit with possible replacements to portray the S&M obsessed wealthy businessman. The list includes fan favorites Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder, Jamie Dornan, François Arnaud, Billy Magnussen, Luke Bracey, Christian Cooke and Scott Eastwood.
