Welcome to a brave new world.

On Monday, Nov. 4, viewers will be transported 30 years in the future, where every cop is partnered with an android in J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman's ambitious new drama Almost Human. The Fox series stars Star Trek's Karl Urban as hardened detective John Kennex and Michael Ealy as Dorian, his robot partner as a buddy-cop duo who must work together despite their differences.

We've got an exclusive sneak peek at the highly anticipated new series, which features some of the advanced technology viewers will be seeing. Plus, Abrams and Wyman dish on why Almost Human isn't "like anything you've seen on TV"!

Though robots are common in Almost Human, Fringe's Wyman insists, "it's a show about human beings. It's a show about human life."

Abrams says Almost Human is "unique," which is high praise coming from the man behind hit series such as such as Lost, Alias, Fringe and Revolution. "What I love about the show is it's great characters in an incredibly unique situation, so the world is something that doesn't feel like anything you've seen on TV," he explains. "The characters are very unique."

As for the partners at the center of the series, Abrams teases, "They're both funny, they're both broken in their own ways and they're just getting to know each other."

The series also stars Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly, Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby and Lili Taylor.

Almost Human premieres Monday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
