SOMETHING'S UP: The mature romantic comedy Something's Gotta Give, starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, was the top movie this weekend, debuting with an estimated $17 million.

SURVIVOR SCAM? An offshore bookie received more than 15 bets on Survivor: Pearl Islands winner Sandra Diaz-Twine from people in the Vancouver, British Columbia area before the first episode of the show even aired. Antigua-based company BetWWTS.com stopped taking Survivor wagers back in September, due to suspicions that insider info had been leaked.

SHE'S A SURVIVOR: Sandra Diaz-Twine, a mother of two from the Northwest, winning $1 million and a new SUV on Survivor Sunday night, capping off the final episode of the Pearl Islands installment.

SURVIVOR A WINNER TOO: A whopping 25.4 million tuning in to watch Sandra Diaz-Twine's victory making the Survivor: Pearl Islands edition the most watched finale since Survivor: Marquesas in May 2002.

ACTION! Operation "Red Dawn," the mission to capture Saddam Hussein, shares its name with a 1984 movie starring Patrick Swayze about American teenagers fighting off a Soviet invasion. A Command Central official could not confirm whether the operation was named after the movie.

BUSTED? White Stripes frontman Jack White may face assault charges after allegedly punching a Detroit musician in the face at least seven times at a Motor City nightclub Saturday night, per the Smoking Gun Website.

DOGG HOUSE: An actress who appeared on Snoop Dogg's MTV show Doggy Fizzle Televizzle is suing the rapper and the music network for making it appear she was naked and having sex with another actor.

BAD HELP: The maid of Beverly Hills, 90210 star Ian Ziering sentenced to a year in jail and three years probation after being convicted of grand theft for stealing from the actor.

HIGH MARKS: Winona Ryder being commended for good behavior by a Beverly Hills judge at a progress report hearing in her shoplifting case. The actress, who's on probation for three years, will return to court May 26 for her next progress report hearing.

KUDOS: The American Film Institute announcing its annual honors of outstanding films and TV shows, including flicks such as American Splendor, Finding Nemo, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and programs like Alias, Arrested Development and Joan of Arcadia.

JOINING THE RACE: The New York Film Critics Circle picking The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King as the Best Film of 2003. Sofia Coppola was named Best Director for Lost in Translation which also nabbed star Bill Murray a Best Actor nod

BUFFY'S BACK: Sarah Michelle Gellar landing the lead role in an English-language remake of the Japanese horror flick The Grudge about a never-ending supernatural curse that claims its victims through a powerful rage, report the trades.

SAY WHAT? Ozzy Osbourne is now breathing on his own and talking at a hospital near London, where he's recovering after his recent all-terrain vehicle accident. Doctors say his prognosis is good.

GOOD MATCH: NBC giving producers of Miss Match an order for four additional episodes, which brings the grand total to 17. Peacock prez Jeff Zucker also announcing the Alicia Silverstone series would benefit from a new timeslot next year.

FARE-WHALE: Keiko, the killer whale of Free Willy fame, was buried Monday in Norway in a secret ceremony to avoid media attention. He died Friday afternoon of pneumonia in Norwegian coastal waters. The whale was 27--old for an orca in captivity.

ALL GROWNS UP: Aaron Carter filing for emancipation from both of his parents Monday, reports the New York Post. The teen hottie sued his mom last Thursday for allegedly stealing from him, a charge she has called "ridiculous."

QUEST FOR THE HOLY MAYOR? John Cleese allegedly considering running for mayor of Santa Barbara, according to old friend and Monty Python costar Michael Palin who was quoted in London's Daily Telegraph.

REMEMBERED: Oscar-nominated actress Jeanne Crain, best known for her role in the controversial Elia Kazan feature from 1949 Pinky, died Sunday of a heart attack at her home in Santa Barbara. She was 78.

JUST DREAMY: American Idol castoff Frenchie Davis landing the lead role in an upcoming traveling production of Dreamgirls. She previously appeared on Broadway in Rent.

IS HE JOKING? Ashton Kutcher announcing on Friday that he's pulling out of MTV's prank show Punk'd after two seasons so he can leave fans "wanting more." His reps swear it's no trick, however MTV's Website says a new season starts in March.
