Gia Allemand's loved ones remain in shock over the tragic passing of the 29-year-old Bachelor star, who was pronounced dead Wednesday after attempting to commit suicide by hanging herself at her New Orleans home.
Bachelor and Bachelorette alums immediately took to Twitter to mourn the loss of their dear friend and surrogate family member, as fans of the show slowly begin grasp the depths of the star's anguish.
One of those fans is Howard Stern, who sounded off on Allemand's death when E! News caught up with him Wednesday night in New York City at the America's Got Talent results show.
"That was sad," Stern said, adding that he regularly tunes in to catch the show.
"I actually watch The Bachelor. I remember who she was. And I think there are pressures—I don't know that had anything to do with her suicide of course," he explained. "Some people wake up in the morning and think everything in their life is gonna be rosy and go great, and life doesn't work that way. It's an unrealistic expectation, so I was sad to hear about it."
On Monday night, Allemand was found unconscious at her home by her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, after an apparent suicide attempt. She was rushed to New Orleans' University Hospital, where she remained in critical condition.
On Wednesday, she's was pulled off life support after doctors determined that Allemand had suffered a critical loss of brain and organ function.
In a statement, Allemand's rep said that the brunette beauty "passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side. As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites."
Anderson, meanwhile, paid tribute to a vibrant girlfriend who "had such an amazing impact on my life," he said in a statement.
"Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile," he added. "All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith and love that we shared."
In her last interview with E! News, conducted last Monday at pal Ali Fedotowskys Bachelorette finale viewing party, Allemand spoke lovingly about her fellow alums on the show, whom she's come to call family.
"I love these guys," Allemand said. "Any time we're together it's always just so fun. It's the best time. We just all have this really strong connection."
