So while it doesn't come as a complete surprise to see the actor heading into an L.A. recording studio on Monday to hang out with Ed Sheeran and One Direction's Zayn Malik, it's still pretty cool nevertheless.
Sure, there's no word yet that the trio actually got down to collaborating on anything, but the thought that they just may have joined forces on something is certainly reason enough to keep our ears open.
Also on hand was Alexander DeLeon, lead singer for The Cab, who posted an Instagram photo of himself posing with Depp and Malik in the studio.
"Pirate lesssons from the one and only. thanks for having us, mr. depp," tweeted DeLeon along with the pic.
Meanwhile, OMG! Insider reports that Depp actually invited Malik to his house on Monday to surprise his daughter Lily-Rose, a huge 1D fan.
Talk about making her day—if not year!
