RoboCop Star Peter Weller Cast on Sons of Anarchy

Sons of Anarchy has cast RoboCop!

Peter Weller, who starred as the famed cyborg crime fighter in 1987's RoboCop and 1990's RoboCop 2, will play a former cop turned port worker in the upcoming sixth season of the hit FX show, THR reports.

Weller, 66, has previously directed a handful of episodes of Sons of Anarchy during seasons four and five of the show. This will be his first time appearing on the show.

In addition to playing RoboCop, Weller has also appeared on TV shows like House, 24, Dexter and Monk, as well at this year's Star Trek Into Darkness. He's also previously directed episodes of House, Hawaii Five-O, Las Vegas and Monk.

According to the logline for the sixth season of the show, official logline for the new season, "Having framed Clay for the murder of Damon Pope, Season Six begins with Jax's leadership uncontested, but his family life suffering from his single-minded pursuit of John Teller's vision. Jax must find a way to keep Tara from going to prison for conspiracy to commit murder while rebuilding his club and breaking from the cycle of violence and greed that ultimately led to his best friend's death."

The new season of Sons of Anarchy will premiere Sept. 10 at 10 p.m.
