As the countdown begins (OK, make that continues) toward the day when Kate Middleton gives birth to her and Prince William's little one, new details have emerged regarding the couple's baby plans.

First and foremost, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not know the gender of the baby, according to a St. James's Palace spokesperson.

As for where the child will be born, he or she will be delivered at the Lindo Wing of London's St. Mary's Hospital. This is also where the late Princess Diana gave birth to William and his younger brother, Prince Harry.

Royal sources also reveal that William does plan on being present for the birth of his son or daughter.

The medical team assigned to deliver the child will be led by Dr. Marcus Setchell, Queen Elizabeth II's former gynecologist, who will be assisted by Dr. Alan Farthing, the queen's current gynecologist and surgeon.

Once the baby does arrive, the announcement will be made to the public with a notice placed on the gates of Buckingham Palace that will also reveal the sex of the baby. The press will get an email notification as well.

However, it may be a few days before the actual name is announced. That decision is left up to the parents.

After the baby's arrival, the new dad will take a statutory paternity leave and then return to his chopper search-and-rescue duties at RAF Valley.

William, Kate and their newborn plan to move into their newly refurbished apartment at Kensington Palace in either September or October.

Meanwhile, the mother-to-be made her final prebaby solo public appearance last week when she helped christen a new Royal Princess Cruise ship.

As for when the royal is due, a source tells E! News that we should be marking July 14 on our calendars.
