Zoe Saldana Talks Allure Weight Reveal: I've Always Had a Very Thin Frame

Star Trek actress says she can't control being 115 pounds

Zoe Saldana spoke out about her recent Allure magazine cover, which reveals her weight, to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show.

"It would have been wrong if they were lying about the weight," she said regarding the magazine's decision to use the cover line "Zoe Saldana: 115 Pounds of Grit and Heartache."

"I've always been a very thin frame. That is how much I weigh, it's something I can't control. It's who I am," the Star Trek actress added.

Saldana thinks that the criticism has been taken out of context, however, and that the mag was simply trying to imply that "for a lightweight person, I seem to be really strong-minded."

Allure released a statement backing their cover star, saying, "We were so impressed by what a tough, confident woman Saldana is that we wanted to capture that."
