A run-in with the law couldn't stop Reese Witherspoon from doing her job.

After news broke that the actress was arrested and briefly jailed early Friday morning for disorderly conduct (while hubby Jim Toth was detained briefly for suspicion of DUI), sources confirm to E! News that the star appeared on the red carpet tonight for the New York City premiere of Mud

Reese hit the carpet in a black Yves Saint Laurent dress with matching heels, posing with costar McConaughey and greeting all the photographers but not taking any questions.

The actress' indie drama (out in theaters April 26) costars Matthew McConaughey, who plays a fugitive who forms a pact with two teenage who try to help him evade the bounty hunters on his trail so he can reunite with his true love (Witherspoon).

Meanwhile, of course, Reese is dealing with her own legal woes. The celeb was handcuffed and put behind bars after allegedly disobeying Atlanta police's orders to remain in the vehicle when they pulled her husband over for weaving across a double line.

The pair was released on bond around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, and a court appearance is currently scheduled for Monday at 8 a.m. in Atlanta Municipal Court.
