This is a story about a girl with a dream. And the Les Misérables man who told her to STFU.

The most perfect talk show host ever Rebel Wilson appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night and recounted a story about winning the Nicole Kidman Scholarship from the Australian Theater for Young People and the subsequent time she tried to thank Nicole for it.

"I got a scholarship and I got to go to New York to study comedy," Rebel recalled to Jay Leno. "And Nicole Kidman paid for everything. Like an apartment, going to see Broadway shows...she doesn't know about that."

"So one time in Sydney, I saw her having dinner with Russell Crowe and I go, 'Now's my chance! I'm going to say thank you,'" the Pitch Perfect star continued. "I went up to them, but before I could say anything, Russell Crowe just turns to me and says, 'F--k off!'"

Come again?

OK, just once more...

(For the record, he only said it to her once. She repeated it three times for emphasis.)

But anyway, afterward Rebel was all:

And then she never even bothered watching Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

Probably.

That's the big news from the interview. But this little gem was buried in there too, when the topic of conversation turned to Rebel's hosting duties at this Sunday's MTV Movie Awards:

"I've got some pretty cool surprises. Like, James Franco's involved, that's No. 1," Rebel teased.

"Well, he always puts his best into award shows," Jay quipped.

To which Rebel responded, "I thought, if I can't learn anything from him about how to be nonchalant while hosting..."
