Nick Lachey is taking his winning streak to High School.

Fresh from leading his hometown team to victory on Clash of the Choirs, the singer and reality-TV veteran has signed on to host the upcoming competition series High School Musical: Summer Session.

Spawned from the incredibly successful HSM franchise, Summer Session will chronicle the grueling process as a group of young hopefuls strive to become the next Zac or Vanessa.

Open casting calls kick off Sunday in Long Beach, Calif., while East Coast kids get their chance May 7 in Orlando—all of which will be followed by camera crews and whittled into suitably inspiring/embarrassing footage fit for the early-audition episodes.

The series premieres July 20 on ABC.
