Roger Ebert is down, but his spirits are high.

"Yes, fracture. But no surgery needed. Details follow. :)," the famed film critic tweeted Thursday after his wife broke the news—also via Twitter—that he was hospitalized with a broken hip.

In her tweet, Chaz Ebert attributed the fracture to "tricky disco dance moves" and wrote that her husband of 20 years was already asking for his computer and would "probably tweet."

She knows her guy like a book, doesn't she?

And he must have been typing away right up until his accident, as his latest review, of the Jessica Biel-Gerard Butler romance Playing for Keeps, was posted on his Chicago Sun-Times movie page just today.

Though still a prolific writer (and tweeter), Ebert now communicates via an audio computer program after losing his ability to speak himself following multiple surgeries to combat papillary thyroid cancer.
