The Voice host Carson Daly thinks it's a good thing that Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green have decided to take a break from the singing competition show.

"It wouldn't be such a great problem for this show to go 10 years where we have rotating current stars," Daly said at the Emmys. "It'll keep things fresh."

Shakira and Usher will replace Xtina and Cee Lo for season four, which premieres in the spring.

"I haven't spoken to Shakira but I've spoken to Usher," Daly said. "We built this show with the idea of the coaches being authentic and supporting and developing new artists. It's all the things Usher did with [Justin] Bieber. That's really the new business model we see in the business."

He's not worried about Usher clashing with the other coaches. "He's had a tumultuous year personally, but he's such a great guy," Daly said. "I think he'll get along with all of them. He's a great fit and so is Shakira."

Any provisions being made behind the scenes now that Shakira is pregnant with her first child?

"We shoot season four soon, so I don't think it'll be an issue," Daly said. "We only need her ears and her mind and her heart."

She just may need a bigger chair, right? "There's Cee Lo's chair," Daly cracked. "There are plenty of chairs for her to choose from."
