Berle calls the glossy "the country's first luxury gaming magazine." Each issue of the coffee-table quarterly tells the upwardly mobile twenty- to thirtysomething crowd how to live the "Milton lifestyle." That means we have to follow Berle's lead and develop a taste for casinos, card rooms, racetracks, cigars, booze and, um, the Internet.
Uncle Miltie's mag is a definite family affair. Berle's wife, Lorna, is the publisher, and daughter Susan Moll is the editor. Susan's hubby, Richard Moll, best known as bailiff Bull on Night Court, is listed on the masthead as "Copy Bully." The 88-year-old comic will be represented in each issue with an un-politically correct column called "Memos from Milton." He also doubles as CEO.
Of course Milton is crammed with Berle's brand of humor. "It seems to me that women prefer large cigars.," Milton tells readers in his first column. There is a feature on how to play blackjack tables without looking like a stooge. Berle's hacks also rank prime rums and top tequilas.
You can pick up the inaugural issue of Milton at magazine racks nationwide on April 24.
