Prince Harry Isn't the Only One: Five More Las Vegas Celebrity Scandals

    Prince Harry Bauer-Griffin

Prince Harry may have been caught with his pants down while whooping it up in Vegas, but he's certainly not the only celeb to get into trouble in Sin City.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas is no longer the desert city's rallying cry—and we've got the proof.

From Paris Hilton's bust for cocaine possession to Britney Spears' surprise wedding to her hometown sweetheart Jason Alexander, here's a look back at some of the town's most notorious scandals.

    Prince Harry's five biggest scandals

    1. Paris Hilton: Not long after the hotel heiress' then-boyfriend, nightlife impresario Cy Waits, used a gun to save his gal from a home intruder, the two were driving down the Strip when they were stopped by cops just before midnight because they saw what they believed to be marijuana smoke billowing from the windows. A quick search found a small amount of cocaine in Hilton's handbag. Hilton eventually accepted a plea deal in which she copped to misdemeanor drug possession and obstructing an officer. No jail time, but she was sentenced to a year of probation, a $2,000 fine, 200 hours of community service and enrollment in a drug abuse program. Waits was handed a 30-day suspended jail sentence, a $585 fine and mandatory DUI school and attendance at a Victim Impact Panel.

    2. Britney Spears: Before Jason Trawick and Kevin Federline, but after Justin Timberlake, there was Jason Alexander. The pop princess and her boyfriend became husband and wife at a 24-hour chapel and celebrated later that night in a luxury suite at the Palms. However, the happiness turned into the shortest celebrity marriage on record when Spears petitioned a judge to annul the union just 55 hours after they said their "I do's."

    3. Tupac Shakur: On Sept. 7, 1996, the man many consider the greatest rapper of all time was shot several times by someone in a white late-model Cadillac who opened fire on Shakur as he and Suge Knight were driving in a BMW on Las Vegas Boulevard. He died six days later of internal bleeding. Shakur was cremated and some of his ashes were apparently later mixed with weed and smoked by members of Outlawz. While the killer's identity remains a mystery, Shakur's legacy lives on. So much so that this year's Coachella music festival featured a performance by a hologram Tupac.

    4. O.J. Simpson: He may have been acquitted of murdering of his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman, in 1995, but thirteen years later Simpson was found guilty of a dozen crimes, including armed robbery and kidnapping during a raid he masterminded on two sports memorabilia collectors in a room at Vegas' Palace Station hotel. A judge later sentenced the 61-year-old former football star, who claimed the collectors had items that were stolen from him, to up to 33 years behind bars.

Vince Neil, Mug Shot Clark County Detention Center

    5. Vince Neil: The Mötley Crüe rocker served 10 days of a 15-day sentence at the Clark County Detention Center in February 2011 for driving under the influence. He was pulled over about seven months before when police noticed him weaving in traffic and he failed a sobriety test when his blood alcohol level registered at nearly three times the legal limit. And then, just four months ago, Neil was banned from the Palms Hotel & Casino. Neil fired the first shot when he posted on Twitter that he was boycotting the hot spot because of "distrust and dishonesty at the executive level." The Palms tweeted that Neil was given the boot because the hot spot claimed he was booted because of "inappropriate behavior."
