Sinatra Goes Home--Again

Another hospital stay, another medical mystery

Frank Sinatra returned to his Beverly Hills home today after an overnight hospital stay. But nobody's saying why the 81-year-old entertainer was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the first place.

His spokeswoman, Susan Reynolds, said, "He's fine," and not much else. She's under orders from the Chairman to stay mum about his health. "There can be no speculation," she said. Hospital spokesman Ron Wise isn't talking either. He says Sinatra asked him not to, and he was heeding the request.

But another hospital source--requesting anonymity--has said Sinatra was admitted for a prearranged treatment, not a life-threatening malady.

It was the Sinatra's second stint in the hospital in two months. In November, he was hospitalized for eight days at Cedars-Sinai for treatment of a pinched nerve and mild pneumonia.

At that time, Ol' Blue Eyes banned comment on his condition. But that didn't stop local news stations from reporting the crooner was on his deathbed, saying Sinatra had suffered a stroke or a heart attack.

Reynolds called those reports nonsense.
