The 2012 London Olympics punctuated a period of civic glee for a group of five fierce and fabulous ladies that we, as Americans, happily cheered on. Several gold medals later, the talented gymnasts celebrated Tuesday atop one of the nation's architectural wonders, the Empire State Building.

Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Jordyn Wieber and Kyla Ross received a warm welcome as fans and press flooded the iconic landmark to honor the thriumphant women.

"On top of the empire state building. AMAZING!!!" Team captain Aly Raisman tweeted. "This day keeps getting better and better! Having soooo much fun with the girls."

While we can't imagine what it feels like to honor your country in the Olympic games and win, we bet they feel like a million bucks. New York's skyline alone can take you in. Imagine what it feels like to get your picture taken while soaring 1,454 feet above New York with a gold medal around your neck. Kudos to you ladies. The feeling is well-deserved.
