TOP OF THE NEWS: Frank Sinatra was released from a Los Angeles hospital Saturday morning. His spokeswoman says he is very happy to be home and again thanks everyone throughout the world for the get-well wishes he has been receiving. The 80-year-old singer entered the hospital last week for a pinched nerve, but various news reports have said he was suffering from more serious ailments.

QUEEN OF POP: The woman who's carrying Michael Jackson Jr. said she is having the King of Pop's baby out of friendship after Lisa Marie Presley refused to do it, according a report the New York Daily News. Debbie Rowe, 37, said she wants nothing in return and will let Jackson raise the child despite allegations of his past child molestation.

THE OTHER O.J. CASE: The second part of O.J. Simpson's custody battle for his two young children with the parents of Nicole Brown starts Tuesday.

JUST SAY NO: Liam Gallagher, lead singer of Oasis, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of cocaine possession. Gallagher's antics this summer reportedly had the pop band on the verge of breakup.

BOX OFFICE: Ron Howard's kidnap drama Ransom dominated the box office, hauling in a whopping $35 million in its opening weekend. It was the best opening ever for actor Mel Gibson. Last week's champ, William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, fell to second place with $8.8 million. Set It Off, a new film starring Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett, finished third with $8.5 million.

SORRY: It was his last week as host of his eponymous Sunday news show, and David Brinkley ended his 53-year career with an apology to President Clinton, whom he called a "bore" during election night coverage.

EAU DE FERGIE: In an effort to get back into the black, former Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson tried to sign a multimillion-dollar perfume deal with Revlon. But a spokeswoman for the cosmetics company said plans for a Fergie fragrance fell through.

. MOVING: According to a report in the Los Angeles Times, developer Robert Maguire may be forcing the $8 billion DreamWorks SKG project out of its seaside location. The studio, founded by director Steven Spielberg, David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg, has reportedly been exploring other options.

I WANT YOUR SEX: Pop singer George Michael told a British magazine that there is a "big neon question mark" over his sexuality. "I've wondered what my sexuality might be, but I've never wondered whether it was acceptable or not."
