MTV to the world: "You're welcome!"

Why? Because they were awesome enough to renew one of our favorite summer TV shows, Awkward. Twirl with us over this very, very good news, won't you?

But wait! It gets even better, because the network is planning on making your life even more Awkward in season three by upping the show's episode order!

MTV has ordered a 20-episode third season of Awkward, which doubles its season one and two episode counts. If that's not a sign of faith in the quirky comedy, we don't know what is!

"[Creator] Lauren Iungerich's creative vision, coupled with this extraordinarily talented cast, make Awkward the perfect series for MTV," David Janollari, head of MTV programming, said in a statement. "Critics and our audience alike have fallen in love with Awkward, and we're thrilled to bring this terrific series back for a third, supersized season."

Awkward has been on a bit of a roll lately when it comes to good news: Star Ashley Rickards was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Comedy series, and Beau Mirchoff, one of her leading men, just took home the Teen Choice Award for Choice Breakout TV Star.

The show's second season has averaged 1.8 million viewers, up six percent from its freshman year.

The network recently renewed Jeff Davis' Teen Wolf for a supersized third season as well, bumping the episode order up from 12 to 24.
