Lamb of God Singer Speaks Out: "I Did Not Attack Anyone"

    Randy Blythe Neil Lupin/Redferns

A wolf in lamb's clothing? Nope, at least according to Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe himself.

The rocker has spent two weeks in a Czech jail after being arrested and charged with manslaughter stemming from a two-year-old incident in which a fan jumped on stage during a show. Blythe allegedly then pushed the fan off the stage, at which point the fan sustained head injuries from which he later died.

"I don't know anything about any sort of incident," Blythe says, speaking out from within jail.

"I remember very few details about the show, mainly because I have played a lot of concerts," Blythe told the Blesk tabloid. "I just remember that the stage at the club was very small, and we barely managed to fit our equipment on there. Also, apparently there was a security guard there because many people climbed onto the stage, including one small boy, in particular, but I could be mixing up details with what happened at other clubs."

In a case his bandmates—who are currently attempting to raise legal funds for Randy—call "maddening," Blythe posted nearly $200,000 in bail but still remains imprisoned. Another court date is set for tomorrow to determine whether he can be released on that bail.

"In terms of justice, I honestly do not know what to expect because it is different than the U.S. I thought that if I made bail, I would be released," the heavy metal rocker continues before weighing his options should he have to stay put. "If I had to stay in the Czech Republic, I would look at the sights, especially in Prague. I would follow Kafka's footprints and I would eat dumplings."

Either way, Blythe remains hopefully that this whole ordeal will be over shortly and he'll be found innocent.

"I did not attack anyone," he explains. "The only way I could have come into contact with anyone from the audience was if I was protecting myself."
