Is it too easy to make a pun about how lucky this show is? Probably.

HBO announced today that its renewed Luck, its horse racing drama starring Dustin Hoffman, for a second season…

Luck officially premiered this past Sunday, and it's already been given a 10-episode second season, set to start production at the end of February.

HBO Programming president Michael Lombardo says in a statement: "We couldn't be more thrilled with the critical response to this beautiful piece of work, and we are very excited about where David and Michael plan to take these incredible characters."

Luck, which also stars Nick Nolte and Dennis Farina, drew in 1.1 million viewers when it previewed its pilot episode in December after the Boardwalk Empire finale. The same amount tuned it for the official premiere on Sunday at 9 p.m.

73% of WWK readers voted to "save" the show in our Save or Sink It poll after the watching the first episode.

Luck airs Sunday nights on HBO.
