Is gorgeous George Clooney jealous of his younger, hunky costar Ryan Gosling?

"I don't like that man," he joked to reporters at the Ides of March premiere in NYC last night, where Ryan wasn't in attendance. "Mr. Tall and Handsome, but I'm told he'll grow out of it. I'm surprised he's not here tonight!"

So does George think Ryan is next version of himself?

George actually thinks Ryan is better!

"I was an actor at the same age he is," George explained at the Ziegeld Theater. "I couldn't do any of things that he can. I had a mullet and was in some bad sitcom."

But no worries, George. Ides screenwriter and Clooney BFF Grant Heslov says the ladies love George and Ryan equally.

When I asked which handsome guy got the most female attention on set, Grant told me, "I would say it was right down the middle."

George, who's known for his practical jokes, said another handsome Hollywood star had better watch his back: Brad Pitt.

"I am in the middle of one right now that's gonna kill him!" he told reporters. "I can't tell you."

But he did tell me that he never tries to punk Angelina Jolie, only her significant other.

George came to the premiere last night with his publicist on his arm instead of Stacy Keibler, and although his current ladylove wasn't with him, two other people near and dear to him were in the house.

When I asked who his date was, George beamed: "My mom and dad are here!"

Melt.
