That's right. The writers decided to go a different way for season six of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which premieres tonight at 10 on FX. The gang buckles down, stops drinking, and goes back to school to advance their education. We hear Mac really finds his calling with computer animation.

Nah, we're kidding. Nothing changes and everyone continues to drink and do stupid things. Well, a couple of them actually do go back to school...

But not for learning purposes. No, sir.

"We have Dee coming back to high school to meet with her old English teacher and the English teacher winds up giving her the opportunity to teach his class," Rob McElhenney spills to us. "And Charlie is kicked out of our group and he decides to get a job as a member of the custodial staff of that particular high school." So, Charlie and Dee kind of try to better themselves. What about the rest of the group? "They sort of leave us behind and we're left to deal with that," Glenn Howerton says. "How do we run things? What do we do without them around?"

The mind cannot fathom what will be happen when Mac, Frank and Dennis are left by themselves. But that's what TV writers are for. "When you have the same five characters and you only have 19 minutes to tell a story, it becomes difficult to be completely original in each episode, but we try very hard to make sure that it does feel fresh," Rob tells us. "But at the same time…you can't just completely change somebody's character just because you think it might be funny in this moment. You can't sell the characters out. So we like to try to retain the Sunny tone and yet bring some originality to each season."

And let's not forget Kaitlin Olson's real-life pregnancy being written into the show. "This year Sweet Dee gets pregnant, which is exciting," she gushes to us. "And there's a Lethal Weapon 5, which is very, very exciting!" Pregnancy? Exciting. Lethal Weapon 5? Very, very exciting! Just so we're clear on the levels of excitement these plotlines are bringing about.

But fans can rest assured that while the show will be tackling some topical issues, it will also be Sunny as usual. "We're doing the usual Sunny stuff that hopefully we do really well," Glenn promises. "We're doing some smaller stories that just have to do with the characters and their odd relationships and then we're doing some more topical stuff. We have a two-part episode that's dedicated to the gay-marriage issue." A two-parter? Very, very, very exciting! And booze! "There's a lot to look forward to in season six," Charlie Day says to us. "We'll be on the land and on the sea and on the road and doing lots of outrageous things as usual. And alcohol will be involved, sure."

Then all is right in the Sunny universe. Season six premieres tonight, which you already knew because of our handy-dandy fall TV premiere calendar, right?
