Well, that was fast. And predictable.

As soon as Kanye West's name was spotted among the nominees for MTV's Video Music Awards, speculation began as to how he would take part in the ceremony—and whether a certain country cutie was gonna let him finish.

Now we know.

In addition to fellow nominees Florence + the Machine and Drake, the music net has announced that God's gift to Twitter will indeed be taking to the stage Sept. 12 to perform on the as yet hostless show.

"Just met with MTV and it's about to go down!" he tweeted this morning. "VMA's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Gee...wonder if any "surprise" appearances during his set could be the cause of such unbridled enthusiasm?

On a completely, um, unrelated note, Taylor Swift is also up for an award and expected to be present at the ceremony.
