It's obviously not the homecoming anyone would have wanted, but it's a homecoming just the same.

The body of Monica Beresford-Redman, the wife of former Survivor producer turned murder suspect Bruce Beresford-Redman, has been returned to Los Angeles, roughly three weeks after her murder in Cancun.

Bruce did not accompany his wife's remains—as the sole suspect in the authorities' seemingly exhaustive investigation, he is not allowed to leave Mexico. Her sisters Jeanne and Carla Burgos flew with the body.

The body was taken to the Gates, Kingsley & Gates Smith Salsbury funeral home in Culver City.

"It's very important to have my sister back where she belongs and have the family say goodbye and have a place to go so they can send their love," Jeanne said.

No details on a funeral service have been announced, though the body is expected to undergo further testing.
