Celebrity Apprentice returns tonight for another season of "stars" competing to promote themselves their pet charities.

Time will tell whether this new round of D-listers will match the sparks reigning champ Joan Rivers and daughter Melissa brought to Donald Trump's boardroom last season. But based on tonight's premiere, we won't see nearly as much dramz from this affable bunch.

The Donald is sure to turn up the heat with challenges that pit the capable against the crazies. In the meantime, the boys are back-slapping buddies while dazed and confused project leader Cyndi Lauper seems to have mistaken firing with the firing squad.

But maybe being "fired" is a fate worse than death for reality-TV whores stars?

Celebrity Apprentice airs tonight at 9 p.m. on NBC.
