Alexa Demie is keeping her head up in the wake of her Euphoria costar Angus Cloud's tragic death.
The actress, who plays Maddy Perez in the HBO drama, briefly touched on her grief while discussing her latest project. Recalling how the set of her new Calvin Klein campaign shoot with Inez and Vinoodh was "light and fun," Alexa said the energy was much-welcomed in her life following the actor's passing.
"I'm realizing that healing and processing does not look like one thing," she told W magazine in an interview published Aug. 18. "So right now, I'm trying to be light when I can."
She added that working with Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin allowed her to tap into a range of emotions, as the famed photography team knows "how make you feel so comfortable, so powerful, so beautiful, but also vulnerable."
"I was kind of shocked because usually there's some tension or some drama on a big campaign shoot," the 32-year-old shared, "but there was nothing of that sort."
Angus died on July 31 at his family home in Oakland, Calif. He was 25.
A cause of death has not been released by officials, though his mom Lisa Cloud has noted that he "did not intend to end his life."
"I also want you to know that although my son was in deep grief about his father's untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was a joyful one," she wrote in an Aug. 4 Facebook post. "When we hugged goodnight we said how much we loved each other and he said he would see me in the morning. I don't know if or what he may have put in his body after that. I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art project's, fell asleep and didn't wake up."
Lisa added, "We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it's abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world."
Alexa was one of the many Euphoria stars who honored Angus on social media amid news of his death, sharing a broken heart emoji on her Instagram Story.
