The spawn of Lily and Rufus is here!
Young actor Chris Riggi will appear in the Gossip Girl finale as Scott, the long-lost love child of Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle), sources confirm to us exclusively.
Yep, on-again, off-again couple Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) will soon come face-to-face with their half-brother, with whom they each share a parent. As Cyrus Rose might say: Oy.
Who is this guy? How did this come to pass? And what does it all mean for our favorite Upper East Siders? Here's what we know:
The return of Scott is going to be a major grenade in the "Lufus" relationship. But what got them to this unexpected place? If you haven't been tracking the developments, here's what went down:
Earlier this season, Rufus found out Lily didn't just break up with him when they were teenagers—she ran away to secretly give birth to their son overseas, and that reveal was shortly trumped by the news that their boy, who'd been adopted by a nice suburban family, had recently died in a sailing accident. Of course, as it turns out, the adoptive parents were lying and it was actually their other kid who had died. Rufus-Lily-spawn, or Scott for short, is alive and well, and he's coming to New York City. Gasp!
Who else thinks this will interfere (again) with Rufus' plans to propose? And what does this mean for the kids, Dan, Jenny, Serena and Eric? Plus, can Rufus and Lily's fragile relationship survive the shock?
Tune in to the Gossip Girl finale, Monday, May 18 at 8 p.m. on the CW to find out!
