Could this be any more meta?

Jennifer Aniston made a cameo on Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update segment to critique, or rather tear down Vanessa Bayer's impression of her Friends character, Rachel Green.

Bayer, who stars with Aniston in the new film Office Christmas Party, even donned a wig resembling the iconic, layered, shoulder-length "Rachel" hairstyle.

"What are you doing here?" Bayer asked.

"For the last 12 days you've been texting me every day to come and visit you," Aniston said. "Listen, honey, I know you love Friends and we had such a great time making our movie together but ya gotta really try to stop texting me every day."

"Friends was like, five million and five years ago, so I think we've just gotta move on," she continued.

"Well, I dunno," Bayer said. "I just, I thought 'cause I do this great bit as Rachel, so."

"Is it a great bit, though, I mean..." Aniston replied.

Then things got pretty meta—the actress then proceeded to do an impression of Bayer's impression of her character.

Aniston also appeared in a skit that spoofed PaleyFest panel discussions with actors. Kate McKinnon reprised her role as fictional actress Debette Goldry.

Emma Stone hosted the episode, marking her third SNL hosting stint, while Shawn Mendes performed his songs "Mercy" and "Treat You Better."

Stone's best skits included a sketch which saw her play the Virgin Mary and a mock '90s-style musical ad in which she, Bayer, Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon promoted the ol' Christmas candle and "the gift of having a gift to give away."

John Cena will host next week's episode, marking his SNL hosting debut, while Maren Morris will perform.
