The record producer released a statement to E! News saying, "Over the past few weeks, a great deal of inaccurate or baseless information has been reported claiming to represent my thoughts and feelings. It is painful to watch this happen repeatedly – especially while trying to cope with the personal nature of the challenges surrounding the breakup of our loving marriage."
David then goes on to address the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's battle with Lyme disease, which some tabloids have called into question lately.
"I have always had and continue to have the utmost respect and love for Yolanda," he says. "Which is why it is so frustrating to see headlines questioning her chronic debilitating illness."
In fact, he wants the world to know that he is always impressed by his ex's courage and her ability to stay strong after being diagnosed in 2012.
"I have been by Yolanda's side over the past four years to the best of my ability as she battled with the complexities of her Lyme diagnosis," he says. "I am incredibly proud of Yolanda's determination and mission to find a cure, and how brave and open she has been by sharing her story in the hopes of changing the future for others."
Meanwhile, David and Yolanda announced their divorce on Dec. 1 after four years of marriage.
An insider tells E! News that the combination of her illness and his busy work schedule chiseled away at their relationship.
"No one doubts that Yolanda is sick," the source shared. "It's very clear that she's legitimately not been well. But, David is someone who travels constantly and Yolanda became ill just one year into the marriage. It was a lot."
Not to mention, the merging of their two families wasn't all that cohesive either.
"David has daughters of his own and there were issues with the families blending. Bringing two sets of children together wasn't always easy," the source told us. "At one point, Yolanda was close to David's daughters, but things have changed.
For David—who was married three times before Yolanda—this may mark the end of an unlucky streak in love.
"At this point, David thinks maybe he's just not cut out for marriage," the insider noted.
