Who's ready for some Broadway-level shenanigans? Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp is about to put on the musical of your dreams. Except a lot weirder.
"We have a big musical in the show," creator and star Michael Showalter tells E! News. "One of the big storylines in the Netflix series is that they put on a musical called 'Electro City' which is based on the musicals of the ‘80s like Starlight Express and Cats, a kind of disco, weird, glam musical."
Yeah, there was a talent show in the original Wet Hot American Summer movie, but the one in the Netflix show is going to be bigger, flashier and just all-around better.
"The talent show in this puts the talent show in the movie to shame," star Zak Orth tells E! News. "I can tell you that there is full-on, legitimate singing and dancing, full-on, legitimate original compositions, sparks fly literally. I want to see the real production of this musical."
