CeeLo Green has had a tumultuous few years as a result of legal issues and controversial tweets, but the "F--k You" singer is opening up on Steve Harvey about how his run in with the law has made him change his ways.

The former The Voice coach, 41, talks about his ecstasy scandal, in which he was arrested and charged with one felony count of furnishing the drug to a female in 2012. He pleaded no contest and also entered a special plea that maintained his innocence. He was ultimately given three years formal probation and was also ordered to complete 360 hours of community service and had to attend 52 AA/NA meetings.

Now, he's just grateful to have a support system still.

"I'm fortunate to still have fans who are forgiving, who are forgiving and understanding and they do realize that we are but human beings and we make mistakes, but I am not my mistakes," he says in the episode slated to air the week for Dec. 7.

"Either it be by default or design, I am here humbled and humanized and with a heartfelt new album that really does address the wisdom and understanding that I got out of the experience. And so I'm very fortunate for that."

Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, also asks for forgiveness for his past actions. "I do sincerely apologize for anybody that I may have offended," he says. "I've been entertaining you for the last 20 years, and I would love to continue if you'll have me."

The crooner doesn't dive into too many specifics about the incident but does address whether or not he has interacted with the woman involved.

"No. We have not had the opportunity to speak. The last time that we did, it was amicable. We walked away from it. Really unfortunate and inconvenient to both of us and we both agreed that we would just like to resume back into real life," he explains.

"It was something that was blown out of proportion. Something that I'm not even at liberty to be so detailed about—but just to answer the question, it was amicable."

Green has tried to move forward with his personal life since then, secretly popping the question to longtime girlfriend Shani James more than a year ago but only revealed the news in October 2015.
